In 2009 Amelia underwent spinal fusion surgery; it was after this that she felt the draw to yoga. Fearing physical limitations, she pursued private yoga lessons and fell madly in love with the practice.
In 2012, she graduated teacher training with Gioconda Parker of Austin, TX and received her 200-hour certification with Yoga Alliance. In 2013, Amelia received her second 200-hour certification through CorePower Yoga in Power Vinyasa. She loves teaching yoga; being able to share and witness the wonders of possibility with others elates her heart and soul. Amelia’s background in physical therapy combined with her training in powerful vinyasa flow creates a class that will be both sweaty and fluid. She loves to infuse each class with music, soul and lightness of heart. Her desire is that each student’s experience will ignite a flame of passion and excite them to their divine potential. Kewal found yoga in 2001 and almost immediately fell into a teacher training program at the recommendation of his teacher Sharon Moon. Initially interested in the idea of deepening his understanding of yoga through study he soon realized that the best way to refine his process was to learn to share it through teaching. With the support of the teachers and founders of Yoga Yoga Kewal has been encouraged to expand his practice to include Ashtanga yoga, Hatha yoga, Kundalini yoga, Vinyasa and Hatha Flow yoga, Gentle Therapeutic yoga, Avatara yoga, Gong yoga and sound healing, and Prenatal yoga. He has also studied other healing modalities outside of yoga including Massage Therapy and Reiki to enhance his ability to touch and facilitate health and well being. Read More
I’ve always been active and call myself a “mover.” My love for movement began as a small child when my grandmother sent me to dance classes. This love of movement turned into a passion, and I danced competitively throughout high school and college. Dancing was my life but the universe had other ideas for me. After some injuries altered my life’s path, I turned to yoga for physical rehabilitation and emotional and spiritual support.
Although I still love to dance in all ways, I found the qualities of dance through the interplay of movement and breath in my yoga practice. I began teaching in 2005 to share this gift with people from all walks of life. I love to work with beginners, advanced practitioners, and everyone in between. Read More
